Terms of Use

Last updated October 4, 2026

The short version

  • The site is free, for personal study. Please don't misuse it.
  • It is not a government site and not legal advice. Practice questions are ours, not the real test's.
  • It is provided “as is”. We are not responsible for what happens with your application or test.
  • You can stop using it, or delete your account, whenever you like.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and HomelandCanada(“we”, “us”). By using this website you agree to them, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. What the site is

HomelandCanada is a free, independent study aid for the Canadian citizenship test. It is not a Government of Canada website, is not connected to IRCC, and does not give legal or immigration advice. Our practice questions are written by us from the public study guide and are not the real test questions. The Disclaimer explains this in full and forms part of these terms.

3. Using the site

You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial study. You agree not to:

  • break the law, or use the site to harm anyone;
  • try to disrupt, overload, hack or get unauthorized access to the site or its systems;
  • scrape, copy or republish the site's content in bulk, or use it to build a competing product;
  • present the site, or anything from it, as official government material.

4. Accounts

Accounts are optional. If you create one, give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, and we may change, pause or stop offering accounts or any part of the site. If we ever shut down accounts, we will try to give notice so you can keep your progress on your device.

5. Content and intellectual property

The site's original content, including its lessons as written, practice questions, design and code, belongs to us. You may print or save pages for your own study.

Some material comes from the Government of Canada, © His Majesty the King in Right of Canada, and is used under the Government of Canada's terms for non-commercial reproduction. It remains subject to those terms; see the Disclaimer. Names and trademarks of other organizations belong to their owners.

6. Feedback

If you send us corrections or suggestions, we may use them to improve the site without owing you anything. Please don't send personal details about your immigration case.

7. No warranty

The site is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises, express or implied, that it will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, or that using it will help you pass the citizenship test or obtain citizenship.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the site's content, including any decision about your citizenship application, test, travel or status. Because the site is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to CAD $50.

9. Your responsibility

If you break these terms or misuse the site and that causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result, to the extent the law allows.

10. Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by contract, including rights under consumer protection laws (such as Quebec's Consumer Protection Act) where they apply to you.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Changes apply from that date; if you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply. For significant changes, we will tell account holders by email.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the province or territory where the operator lives and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
